Zoersel's artist, curator Frie J. Jacobs, brought together a number of artists who explore a wide range of painterly possibilities under the fluid title Lacuna. 'Lacuna' refers to something that is missing, a gap. It is the title for an exhibition about works of art that have one thing in common in their diversity: they do not tell a clear story. They seem to mean nothing outside themselves and yet there appears to be something in that silence. As a kind of lacuna from which art arises and appears. From which we challenge the viewer to construct meanings themselves.
